2017 ABHA Membership, Fri 2nd Dec, 2016

The Board of Directors would like to announce a change to the ABHA membership fees for 2017. Riders will now be covered for 'Personal Accident Insurance' at ABHA sanctioned events through Affinity Insurance. The new fee structure incorporates the discounted rider insurance that the ABHA have secured with Affinity. Annual fees are Seniors $60, Juniors $30 and Day Memberships $20. The Board of Directors would also like to announce they have introduced a 'Non-Competing' membership $15.  There will be added benefits such as a $25 discount off float/Gooseneck insurance when taken out through Affinity. 


The 'Personal Accident Insurance' cover will commence on the 1st January 2017.

ROC N MY FAME – Affectionately known by the board as Rick, is currently located at Nangus, near Gundaga,i with Adele Edwards. Any enquiries regarding Rick, please feel free to phone Adele on 0427413227. Adele may also be able to assist in transporting Rick to Warwick should his new owners be in Qld.

If you would like to own this outstanding gelding, offers are being accepted by email only, to secretary@abha.com.au

 The current highest bid will be posted on the auction ad on our facebook page. Offers in comments will not be registered. If you are outbid, please feel free to email another bid. Please note there is a modest reserve.
The auction will close Saturday the 22nd of October at 6pm AEDT.
The winning bidder will be notified via email at the conclusion of the auction.

The ABHA Board would like to take this opportunity to THANK Bek Knudsen and her family for their generosity of donating Rick to the ABHA and supporting our wonderful sport of Barrel Racing. Bek is the owner of Seductive Fame (Ricks Sire) and SLR Mojos Working, which all competitors at the 2016 ABHA National Finals received a massive gift from Bek being a free service fee to one of these great Stallions.

2016 ABHA National Finals AQHA Incentive winners., Fri 14th Oct, 2016

The AQHA sponsored over $2000.00 in cash and prizes at the 2016 ABHA National Finals.

Patsie Holder Memorial Classic Barrel Race.

2016 had 57 Horses entered in this prestigious event, of the 57 horses, 34 were Registered Quarter Horses, of the 34 horses, 21 owners were financial and 22 Breeders were financial.

Winner of the Fastest Registered Quarter Horse $1000.00 Bonus placing 1st in this event, was Cheyenne Whitwell riding Peptos Royal DOC – Q-68919.

Winner of the $500.00, Breeder of the fastest Registered Quarter Horse bonus was Mathea Usher – Peptos Royal Doc – Q68919.

Runner Up taking home the AQHA runner up fastest registered financial quarter horse $250 Bonus – Wendy Caban and Jay Lo Working – Q81135 .

Open Divisional Barrel Race

This year there were 340 horses entered, over 200 of these horses were registered Quarter Horses.

Nichole Fitzpatrick and Just a Busy Cat –Q-61107 not only won the 1st Division with an average time of 17.340 – Just a Bust Cat also took home the $250.00 bonus for the being the fastest registered financial Quarter Horse sponsored by AQHA.

Junior Divisional Barrel Race.

This event had 120 horses entered 34 were registered Quarter Horses,

Placing 2nd in the Junior 1D was Bianca Lumby and Touch of Chemistry –Q47373  winning them an AQHA Vest and beautiful neck garland for being the fastest financial registered Quarter Horse.

Placing 4th in the Junior 1D was Jade Tribe and Radical Sabbatical –Q-58759 earning them runner up fastest financial registered Quarte horse, taking home an AQHA Rug.

Placing 5th in the Junior 1D was Oliva Webb and Morn N Te – Q-61176 and also second Runner Up fastest financial Registered Quarter horse, winning them a bag full of AQHA merchandise.
